National Living Treasures:  Samporonia Mandalo

Samporonia Madanlo is a highly respected Mandaya master weaver, celebrated for her extraordinary talent in the art of Dagmay weaving. As one of the few remaining gi-pandayan (master weavers), she excels in every stage of the craft, from carefully harvesting abaca to weaving intricate and complex patterns. Her dedication and skill have earned her recognition for producing works of exceptional quality, often likened to those of legendary weavers from the past.
